The championship Old Moray course (Par 71 SSS 73) has hosted many tournaments including the Mens Home Internationals, The Scottish Mens and Scottish Ladies Amateur Championships among them. New Moray is over 30 years old and was designed with Henry Cotton.

The area is home to a number of internationally renowned names including Baxters (soups and jams), Walkers (shortbread), Johnstons (cashmere woollen mills) and Gordon & Macphail (whisky specialist wholesalers and distillers).
